Per Oliver Tooley:Now for the sad bit. I got this from (William) Roy Kendrick. Alfred Thomas (senior) in advancing years was suffering from terminal and painful
cancer (of the spine Roy thinks). His wife Jemima had to do everything for him including help with going to the toilet. He couldn't bear this and finally committed suicide. Jemima felt deserted by him (despite the fact that he was no longer winning the bread or any help at home) and in a fit of resentment, which she never really got over, she destroyed all their family history. Pictures, bibles, letters, everything, which might
explain why we cannot find any info about Alfred's parents and siblings.
