THOMAS GRANGER/BRIDGETT MCDERMOTT

Thomas GRANGER was born March 4, 1841 and died April 9, 1907 the son of Allen and Margaret BOVIER GRANGER.  He married Bridgett MCDERMOTT the daughter of Michael and Margaret MCDERMOTT.  She was born January 5, 1840 in Ireland and died April 27, 1899.

Ella GRANGER born May 18, 1861  and died March 4, 1935.  She married Douglas Traster 

Carrie Lavina GRANGER was born November 16, 1864 and died September 1, 1943.  She married Samuel Stacey CROSS May 10, 1882.  He was born June 21, 1857 and died March 28, 1935.  She was adopted by Prentice and Polly BUNKER WILSON.

OBITUARY--MRS. SAMUEL CROSS
Canisteo, Sept. 2---Mrs. Carrie L. Cross, widow of Samuel Cross, died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday at her home, 73 Maple Street, after an illness of four weeks. Cerebral hemorrhage was the cause of death.
She was born here November 16, 1864 and had spent her entire life in this vicinity. She married Mr. Cross May 10, 1882. He died in 1935. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church.
Survivors are three daughters, Mrs. J. Roy Clark of Syracuse, Mrs. Floyd Caple of Hartsville, and Mrs. Hugh Kenyon of Bennetts Creek Road; her stepmother Mrs. Ada Wilson of Hornell; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; one niece.
Funeral services will be held at the late home Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. J. Gordon McKenzie will officiate and burial will be in Hillside Cemetery. (Hornell Evening Tribune)

SAMUEL CROSS, 77, DIES AFTER ILLNESS OF 12-DAY DURATION
Canisteo, March 28--Samuel S. Cross, 77 years old, prominent resident of this villiage, died last night at about 10:30 o'clock at his home 73 Maple Street. He suffered a cerebral hemorrhage 12 days ago and this was given as the cause of death.
Mr. Cross was born in Canisteo on June 21, 1857 and lived here most of his life. His parents were James Cross of England and Marinda Faulkner. On May 10, 1882 he married Carrie L. Wilson who survives him. Mr. Cross was a retired farmer and lived at his Maple Street home for the past 20 years.
Besides his widow, he is survived by three daughters; Mrs. J. Roy Clark of Cazenovia, NY, Mrs. Floyd Caple and Mrs. Hugh Kenyon of Hornell, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several neices and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon with a prayer at the Maple Street home at 1:30 and the services at the Scranton Funeral Home on Greenwood Street. The Rev. Harry L. Somers, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillside Cemetery, Canisteo. (Canisteo Times)
