Perkins/Durham Research: Research Status in brief

Researcher List ] To-do List ]

Perkins

This family line reaches as far back as Warner Perkins who was born sometime before 1800.  He was found in the early 1800 Delaware census's, and his probate records from 1849 indicate the heirs of his estate (presumably his children.)  The most important goal is to jump back another generation to find out who the parents of Warner were and the location of his birth.  Perhaps tracing descendancy will help to catch other researchers who can help reach this goal.

The currently know researchers in this family line follow Warners' descendancy through his son Mitchell Perkins (1813-1899).  Mitchell moved from Delaware to Michigan shortly after Warner's death in 1849.  Mitchell had several children before the move from Delaware and after the move to Michigan.

Interested researchers are strongly encouraged to contact the webmaster and pool their research.  Hopefully with all our information in one place, we can together expand the known lineage of this family.

Durham

The Durham line begins with the marriage of Mitchell Perkins (1844-1927) to Martha Jane Durham (1844-1933).  Martha's father was Elijah Durham who lived in Michigan in the later 1800's but, according to census records, also lived in Pennsylvania and Delaware.  According to the Cott Bible records held by John Carter, Elijah is the son of George Durham.  The webmaster has not fully studied this family line yet, but hopes to begin this quest in the near future.
