Robert was born 1 Nov 1812 in Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, England.  He was christened 31 Oct 1813 in Pinchbeck.   Robert came to America in 1838.  At this time, we don't know where he landed, but he settled in Washington County, Arkansas by 1842.
Robert continued to live in Washington County through the late 1870s, just where he went after leaving Washington County until his death, is unknown.  At the time of  Robert's death, he was living with his son, Charles, near Pauls Valley, Oklahoma.  It has been passed down through his children that he was the first person buried in the White Bead Cemetery in Garvin County, Indian Territory.

According to Bobby LYNCH, Washington County, AR historian, Robert built himself a brick home in the 1850s near the old Shiloh Church in the town now called Springdale. That house stood until the 1940s. Main Street in Springdale was formerly named Seymour Street.

I have found record of James and Mary Ann SEYMOUR in Washington County Court Records that show he had connections in Clinton County, Iowa.  I found him in the 1870 Clinton County census.  He states he was born in England in 1816.  Is he a brother
to Robert??
