Robert Seymour
Robert was born 1 Nov 1812
in Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire, England. He was christened 31 Oct 1813
in Pinchbeck. Robert came
to America in 1838. At this time, we don't know where he landed, but
he settled in Washington County, Arkansas by 1842.
Robert continued
to live in Washington County through the late 1870s, just where he
went after leaving Washington County until his death, is unknown. At
the time of Robert's death, he
was living with his son, Charles, near
Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. It has been passed down through his children that
he was the first person buried in the White Bead Cemetery in Garvin County,
Indian Territory.

According to Bobby LYNCH, Washington County, AR historian, Robert built himself a brick home in the 1850s near the old Shiloh Church in the town now called Springdale. That house stood until the 1940s. Main Street in Springdale was formerly named Seymour Street.

I found him in the 1870 Clinton County census. He states he was born
in England in 1816. Is he a brother
to Robert??
