6. In December 10, 1861, Craven enlisted in Co. G, 43rd Regiment
Ohio
Vol. Inf. He died on August 14, 1862 at Camp
Clear Creek in
Mississippi and is buried at the Cornith, Mississippi
National
Cemetary.
7. On March 12, 1867, Nancy Aliff Marker married my great grandfather,
Wesley Hollingshead. They went West to Nebraska
and raised their
family, never returning to Ohio.
8. Harriet Marker married Marcus Wilson. They had two children,
Irma
and Leon Riley. Irma married Cliff Deener
and Leon Riley married a
woman named Amanda. Neither Irma nor Leon
had any children that I
am aware of. Harriet and her children, Irma
and Leon lived and died
in the Dayton/Columbus areas of Ohio.
9. In the 1870 Census - Nebraska, Nancy (Marker) Hollingshead
lists her
father's birth as being in Baden. (Germany)
10. In the 1800 Census for Kent Co., Delaware there is a Curtis
Marker family listed but I am unaware of any relationship
to my
Samuel.
11. I have one reference to a Samuel Marker serving in Captain McElroy's
Independent Rifle Company in the War of 1812.
I have not confirmed
him as being my Samuel.
I have not tackled the court records for Harrison County during the
years
1850-1860. If Samuel and Ciscella died during those years there
may be a
reference to Craven and Harriet (and possibly Nancy) being bound out
or
adopted to the Devilblip/Buchanan families.
Anyone out there recognize this family? All suggestions appreciated!
