General Notes: The manifest states only that the ship arrived in July 1849. The date of 5 July was obtained from the Cimorelli Immigration Manifest web site. The captain's name is written Guylenpetz, but his signature appears to be Gylienpetz. There are 3 letters prior to his surname but connected to the name in his signature. The letters appear to be CeS Passenger numbers were added by transcriber. Passenger notes: 4-6 Furba? - There appears to be a script 'l' at the end of their surnames. This could just be a handwriting flourish, since the same thing appears elsewhere in the captain's handwriting. Correspondence received by the transcriber from 2 descendants of the Stille family: Correspondence: Passenger #1 Stelle (Stille) Pär Westberg, a descendant of Mr. Stille's brother has provided notes of interest which are presented in English and Swedish. Mr. Pär Westberg of Rydsgård, Sweden is the gggrandson of the brother of Mr.Fredrick Johansson Stille. Fredrik Stille was born in Rogberga Socken, Jönköpings Län, in Småland, Sweden. He had seven older brothers and sisters. His father was Johann Andersson Stille, and his mother was Catharina Svensdotter Stille. They were cousins and both were born in Rogberga. Mr. Westberg has traced his family genealogy to 1580 in Rogberga socken with Bengt Claesson Stille. Every generation worked as smiths in the Jönköpings armament factory. Fredrik Stille's grandfather Anders Claesson Stille, born 18 October 1728, was a member of the Swedish Parliament. You can view a photo of the Stille farm house in Wästraby, Rogberga socken in Jönköpings Län where Fredrik Johansson Stille was born. The house is over 200 years old. Correspondence: 5/00 Passenger #1 Stelle (Stille) Christopher Keane sends the following: My wife is Mette Scherling of Dragør, Denmark. Her mother is Hedvig Marjane Stille of Jönköping, Sweden. Hedvig's great-grandfather is Lars Johansson Stille, born 8-14-1813 at Bogla Skattegård, Jönköping, and one of Fredrik Johansson Stille's older brothers.
