• Mark emigrated to Australia in about 1876.

This postcard shows the Bolton Civic Centre, in Bolton, Lancashire.

• Mark's occupation, as noted on his wedding certificate of 12 July 1877, was a butcher.

• Mark Parslow was recorded as a Householder in the Electoral Roll of Drayton - Toowoomba in 1879. He was living in Ruthven Street, now Toowomba's main street.

• William Powell, the minister who officiated at Mark and Fanny's wedding, conducted the ceremony in his own home in Boundary Street, Brisbane.

William was born in Hereford, England, in 1845, and was thus thirty-two years old when he married the couple, who were 26 and 17 years old. William entered the ministry in 1865.

He died on 1st August 1919, in Brisbane, and was buried in the Toowong cemetery.
