Oak Chapel/McKinley Cemetery, Grant County, Indiana
Oak Chapel/McKinely Cemetery is located in Grant County, Section 13 of Monroe Township, directly across from the Oak Chapel United Methodist Church at 1335 S. Jadden Rd., Marion, Indian.  Map  The original name of the cemetery was McKinley and it is thought it was named McKinley for the person who donated the land for the cemetery.  It became known as Oak Chapel after the Oak Chapel United Brethern Church was established in 1876.  The current building was built in 1905 and is now a Methodist Church.  It is an impressive building with a bell enclosed in a large/tall steeple.  The cemetery appears to be receiving minimal care and is fenced on three sides with a steel cable across the front.

We visted the cemetery in June of 2007 and took all but two of the photos shown here.

When we visted the cemetery in June of 2007 we didn't know an infant grandson and grandaughter of Mark & Elizabeth (Morgan) Gage were buried in this cemetery, too.  We did see several infant stones in the cemetey which were hard to read and two of them could have been those of the Gage children.
