The West Liberty Cemetery is located next to the West Liberty Church of Christ in Section 2 of Sugar Creek township in Poweshiek County, IA at Hwy F57 and Diamond Trail Road, west of Montezuma. Map

Poweshiek County, formed in 1843, is located in southeastern part of Iowa along Interstate 80, between Des Moines and Iowa City and was named for the Indian chief of the Fox tribe who signed the treaty ending the Black Hawk War.
