THE McCAIN LIST SERVER

If you are interested in McCain genealogy you should subscribe to the McCAIN Roots Web List Server. When you send an email to [email protected], the system replicates the message and sends it to all subscriber's of the list. It is approximately 10 years old and has over 120 subscribers. To subscribe to the list server send an email to [email protected] with "subscribe" in the Subject line. Then you will receive all messages sent to the list server by McCain researchers. You can share McCain data with other researchers or post a query of your own. Some subscriber may have the information that you are looking for.

You can also access any of the thousands of archived messages. Every message sent since the start of the list server has been archived. You have to go to the RootsWeb site to do this. The URL for RootsWeb is https://sites.rootsweb.com. In the RootsWeb banner click on Mailing Lists. On the Mailing List Page look for Surnames and click on "M". On the "M" Page scroll down to McCain. Click on McCain and this will take you to the McCain Page. Here you can Subscribe, Unsubscribe, and search or browse McCain archived messages.

Traffic generally is fairly light but if the traffic gets too heavy, you can always unsubscribe. I find it quite interesting reading although it may not be for everyone. The current manager of the list is Beulah McCain. If you have further questions you can email her at [email protected].
