THE SOUTHERN STANDARD ROLL #211 McMinnville Southern Standard 1944-1946 September 8, 1944 ANNUAL REUNION OF McGEE FAMILY SUNDAY The fourth annual reunion of the McGee relatives was held at the Shellsford church on Sunday, August 27. A large crowd attended and at noon tables were placed on the lawn where a picnic lunch was served. Those present were: Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dodson, Miss Annett Wilson and James Portman Line of Chattanooga; Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Dodson, Mrs. Savell of Hixson; Mr. and Mrs. John Grove and daughters, Clara Ray and Anna Bell; Mr. and Mrs. Luther Curtis, Mr. and Mrs. William Collier; Mr. and Mrs. John Collier; Mr. and Mrs. James Bottoms; Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Anderson and daughter, Mildred; Mrs. Willene Kell and son, Neiman; Mrs. Alice McGregor; Mrs. Isham Ewton; Mrs. Cecil Nelson; Mrs. Walter Higginsbotham; Misses Mary Charles Higginsbotham, Gladys and Evelyn Nelson, Gladys Bost; Messrs. P. R. Farless, Amos Higginsbotham and Ervin Roberts. Mr. and Mrs. Frank McGee and grandson, Mr. and Mrs. Tobe McGee, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest McGee, Miss Beatrice McGee, Mr. and Mrs. Fred McGee and nephew, Mr. and Mrs. Alton McGee and son, Jessie Floyd; Messrs. Thurman McGee, Willie McGee, Cleve McGee, Allen McGee and Edd McGee, who stated that he had one dozen grandsons in service. Several relatives were absent because of the death of the infant of Judge and Mrs. James C. McGee. Among the visiting friends were the Rev. and Mrs. J. M. Byrn, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gaffin, Mrs. Carrie Curtis, Mrs. Fannie Jennings, Miss Betty Jean McDaniel of Ft. Myers, Fla., Misses Kate Dodson, Gena Gaffin and Martha and Betty Sue Kell, Messrs.
