Pleasant Earles Dec'd last Will and Testament

	In the name of God Amen I Pleasant Earles of the County of White 
and State of Tennessee being weak in body but of sound and perfect mind 
and memory calling to mind the mortality of the Body and Knowing that 
is appointed for all men once to die do make ordain constitute and 
appoint ;this my last will and testament and principally and first I 
give and bequeath my soul unto All mighty God who give it and my body 
to the dust to be buried in decent Christian burial and as touching 
such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me with I give  
bequeath demise and dispose of the same in form and manner following to 
wit.  Item 1st  I give and bequeath to my well beloved Wife Nancy 
Earles the Tract of land whereon I now live containing Two hundred 
acres together with all the building improvements and appurtenances of 
what kind soever to be by her freely used occupied and enjoyed with all 
and  singular the increases and profits thereof for and during the Term 
of fourteen years from this day also all the household and Kitchen  
furniture and all my stock of horses Cattle hogs and Sheep and all my 
grain of ever description for the special use and benefit of my Wife 
Nancy Earles and her five children also my Will is that my Negro man 
slave named Moses aged about forty years is to be and remain the 
property of my well beloved wife Nancy Earles during the Term of 
fourteen years next from this day and she is to have full power to hire 
said slave Moses to whomsoever she pleases or to keep him at home on 
the farm as she may think proper.  Item 2  I give and bequeath unto my 
eldest son Martin Earles  the sum of Five Hundred dollars to be paid 
out of the money arising from the sales of the lands and personal 
property which is to be sold at the expiration of fourteen years from 
this day.  Item 3rd   My Will is that all my debts is to be collected 
and applied to the sole and proper use of my well beloved Wife Nancy 
Earles and her five children.  Item 4th   My Will is that all my lands 
and personal property which may remain not disposed of otherwise By me 
is to be sold at the expiration of fourteen years next and the proceeds 
equally divided between my Wife Nancy Earles and her five children 
Elizabeth Caroline & William P. & Margaret & Sealy Ann & Nancy Ann.  
Lastly I do hereby appoint my son Martin Earles Executor and my wife 
Nancy Earles Executrix of this my last Will and Testament thereby 
revoking all former Wills by me made in witness whereof I have hereunto 
set my hand and affixed my seal this fourteenth day of November in the 
year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty four.  Signed Sealed 
published and declared by the above named Pleasant Earles to be ;his 
last Will and testament in the presence of us who have hereunto 
subscribed our names as witnesses in the presence of the Testator.

Pleasant Earles Deceased Letter of Administration
State of Tennessee White County

Whereas on the 5th day of May A.D. 1845 the death of Pleasant Earles 
late of the County of White Deceased was suggested in open Court and 
that he departed this life leaving a Will which has been duly proven 
and recorded in this Court wherein he appointed Martin Earles and Nancy 
Earles his Executor and Executrix whereupon  they are this day  
appointed Executor and Executrix with the Will enrolled  these are 
therefore to empower the said Executor & Executrix to enter unto upon 
all and Singular the goods and Chattels rights and credits of the  said 
deceased and them unto their possession take wheresoever the same may 
be found in this State and an Inventory to return unto this Court 
within the time prescribed by law and all the Just debts of the 
deceased to pay so far as said Estate will extend or  amount to.  
Witness William Little Clerk of White County Court at off  the first 
Monday of May A.D. 1845.
