ROY EDWARD FARR
Roy Farr, 83, died Wednesday, April 28, 1999 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, NE.
He was born September 7, 1915, in Frontier County to Ed and Millie (Basinger) Farr. He attended Prairie Bell School Dis-trict No. 54 in Frontier County.
On February 14, 1943, he married Mildred Jane Trosper in Bakersfield, CA. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II from 1942-1946. After the service he farmed north of Cambridge near Deer Creek. In 1966 they moved to Kearney where they bought the El Rancho Trailer Court. They retired in 1988.
He was a member of the Eagles and the American Legion at Kearney.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Eldon and Emert.
Survivors include his wife, Mildred of Kearney; one son, Roger and wife, Dorothy Farr of Omaha, NE; one daughter, Linda and husband David Long of Alma, NE; one sister, Lillian Sayer of Cambridge, NE; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be Saturday, July 1, 1999 at 2 p.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church in Cambridge, NE with Pastor Art Phillips officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Cambridge, NE.
Memorial may be made to the St. John Center or the Kearney police department.
