State of Tennessee	|	County Court
White County |	June Term 1876

The undersigned being unconnected with the parties either by affinity or
consanguinity, and entirely disinterested, having been summoned and duly
sworn as a Jury to allot and set off to Jane Pirtle her Homestead and Dower
out of the real estate of Jacob L. Pirtle her deceased husband, after having
duly considered and fully understood the whole matter, do hereby assign to
the said Jane Pirtle for her Homestead and Dower, the following described
Land with the erections and improvements thereon. To wit: A tract of Land in
the County of White on the Waters of Cedar Creek containing by estimation one
hundred and thirty eight acres and bounded as follows: Beginning on a Rock
in the line of a tract formerly owned by Robert Cook running Eastwardly to
the ford of the Branch or Creek, Thence up said Creek with its meanders
passing the head of the Spring to a white oak at the mouth of a hollow.
Thence up said hollow a direct line made by John Cantrell and Smith Cantrell
heirs and representatives of Aaron Cantrell Deceased to a stake outside of
the fence on the East side of said Smith Cantrell's part of said farm.
Thence Northwardly a new chopped line to a post oak. Thence Eastwardly to a
black oak standing on the line of Richard Crowder. Thence South with said
Crowder's line to a stake Hugh Cook's corner. Thence West with said Cook's
line to a small white oak sapling his North West corner at the mouth of a
hollow. Thence up said hollow with a marked line towards the Cypress swamp
to a small black oak sapling in George Pirtle's line. Thence West with said
line to a post oak in the East boundary line of the Robert Cook tract.
Thence North with said line 70 poles to the Beginning. This in our opinions
does not constitute one thousand Dollars worth of the real estate and one
third of the remainder but the Widow being present stated that the above
described tract would make her support and that was all she wanted.
Given under our hands the 8th day of June AD 1876.
