Loren Arthur Irving

INDEPENDENCE-
Loren Arthur Irving, 59, died Thursday in a Salem hospital. He was born inWessington, S.D., where he lived until moving to Independence in 1934. He worked 16 years for Monmouth-Independence Co-op and 14 years for Franklin-Sweed Co. Since 1966 he was a salesman with Pacific Northwest Life Insurance Co.

A Navy World War II veteran, he was past commander of American Legion Post 233 and member of Independence Elks.

Survivors include wife, Vera; sons, Loren D., Bend, Lynn B., Salem: mother, Ruth Ballard, Redmond: sister, Halene Atwood, Portland; brothers, John, Houston, Texas, and Carl, Eugene; two granddaughters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Parmenter mortuary and interment in Belcrest Memorial Park, Salem. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Cardiac Care Fund, in care of Independence Fire Department or Parmenter mortuary.
