Jesse H. Vermillion	|     This Indenture made this 29th day of January 
One thousand eight hundred and twenty eight, between William Earles of the 
County of White and State of Tennessee of the one part, and Jesse H. 
Vermillion of County and State aforesaid of the other part.  Witnesseth that 
the said William Earles for and in consideration of the sum of Sixty six 
Dollars to him in hand paid by the said Jesse H. Vermillion, the receipt 
where of is hereby acknowledged, hath given granted, bargained and sold, 
aliened, conveyed and confirmed unto the said Jesse H. Vermillion his heirs 
and assigns forever a certain parcel or tract of Land situate lying and being 
in the County of White in the first District and on the waters of the Caney 
fork - Beginning at a white oak, thence west eighty poles to a stake in a 
glade, thence south one hundred and thirty two poles to a stake in a glade, 
thence East 89 poles to two swamp oaks in a swamp, thence north 130 poles to 
the Beginning.  Containing of sixty six acres to have and to hold the 
aforesaid sixty six acres of Land with all and singular the right, profet, 
emoluments, heredeaments and appurtenances of in and to the same belonging to 
in any wise appertaining to the only proper use and behoof of him the said 
Jesse H. Vermillion his heirs and assigns forever.  And the said William Earl 
for himself his heirs Executors and administrators doth covenant and agree to 
and with the said Land and bargained premises he will warrant and forever 
defend against the right title interest or claim of all and every person or 
persons whatever.  In Witness whereof the said William Earles hath here unto 
set his hand and affixed his seal on the day and year above written.

	Personally appeared before me Nicholas Oldham Clerk of White County 
Court William Earls the within named conveyor with whom I am personally 
acquainted and who acknowledged the due execution of the within Deed for the 
purposes therein contained which is recorded.  Witness my hand at office the 
7th June 1841.
