Mystery McIndoo's

or
 Who Dat Mac?

Okay, so I had a little fun there.  This page will give links, info, or images for McIndoo's that I have found on the internet that don't seem to fit any of our
trees for the moment.  I am in hopes of someone coming along and helping
us out.  Please take a look and see if you can help us.  If you have info that
will help please contact Dennis McIndoo

New as of 10-3-2000!!

Doing a search on the internet I have come up with a new set of Mystery Macs.  On Ancestry.com the name William Henry McIndoo came up.  These are the facts I have on him up to this point.  I have contacted the person that has the gedcom file.

1.  William Henry McIndoo - He married Bertha Alva Cooley June 27, 1900 in Chetco, Oregon, daughter of James Cooley and Marilda Stanton.  She was born January 24, 1876 in Curry County, Oregon, and died in 1932.

Children of William McIndoo and Bertha Cooley are:

Second Generation

2. Robert Irwin McIndoo was born 1905.  He married Marian Bittencourt.  She was born 1905.

Children of Robert McIndoo and Marian Bittencourt are:

I found this McIndoo at https://sites.rootsweb.com/~okgenweb/pioneer/mc.htm#058
I haven't had a chance to see if I can find the microfiche for this persons interview,  but the "Indian Pioneer Papers" or "Indian Pioneer History" are interviews that deal with people of all nationalities with first-hand experience of Indian Territory and Oklahoma Territory, not just the Indian population. The person found here is
Mettie McIndoo
and the interview was evidently taken in Tulsa, Oklahoma.   This is all I have on her.

Here is a recent obit I found.  Lots of info here to help.

Here is a section of the 1860 South Carolina Census, Charleston District, 6th Ward of Charleston City, page 445, lines 9-16.  James and Nancy both came from Ireland, according to this census and the children were all born in South Carolina.  Found them while doing a search on Genealogy Library on the Family Tree Maker site.

Something that has nagged me for a while is why Polly Ann McIndoo was also called Susan.  To me it didn't make sense but, of course, nicknames can be whatever happens to stick because of circumstances, a friends name, or who knows what.  Well, lo and behold because of a query I put on a GenForum site I found out what I feel is the answer.  I also wanted to show what I have to get your opinion on what I have for a conclusion.  Hence here is the link and story of
Polly Ann or Susan?

Here is another condensed image of the 1860 South Carolina Census.  It is from the 6th ward of Charleston City, Charleston District, page 425, line 17.  This shows a Jane McIndoo from Ireland.  Wonder if there could be a family relationship with the James McIndoo, also in Charleston, that I have mentioned two tables above.  Of course this could be her married name.
