I haven't had a chance to see if I can find the microfiche for this persons interview, but the "Indian Pioneer Papers" or "Indian Pioneer History" are interviews that deal with people of all nationalities with first-hand experience of Indian Territory and Oklahoma Territory, not just the Indian population. The person found here is Mettie McIndoo and the interview was evidently taken in Tulsa, Oklahoma. This is all I have on her. |
Here is a recent obit I
found. Lots of info here to help. Robert N. McIndoo

Here is a section of the 1860 South Carolina Census, Charleston District, 6th Ward of Charleston City, page 445, lines 9-16. James and Nancy both came from Ireland, according to this census and the children were all born in South Carolina. Found them while doing a search on Genealogy Library on the Family Tree Maker site. |
Something that has nagged me for
a while is why Polly Ann McIndoo was also called Susan. To me it
didn't make sense but, of course, nicknames can be whatever happens to
stick because of circumstances, a friends name, or who knows what.
Well, lo and behold because of a query I put on a GenForum site I found
out what I feel is the answer. I also wanted to show what I
have to get your opinion on what I have for a conclusion. Hence
