THOMAS MCKIE PARKER (Also known as THOMAS PARKER MCKIE)
Thomas McKie Parker
Parents: Ellen Parker and Thomas McKie. We have always been told that Thomas McKie was his father, but the birth certificate that Hazel Conway daughter of Agnes Inglis (nee McKie) got for us in Scotland, does not show a father at all. It only shows Ellen Parker as mother. Thomas was registered as Thomas McKie Parker which leads us to believe that Thomas McKie was his father. See more below.

BIRTH: Thomas McKie Parker was born to Thomas McKie and Ellen Parker who were not married and was registered as Thomas McKie Parker after his Mother. There is no mention on the birth certificate of the fathers name and Thomas McKie Parker is listed as Illegitimate. When Thomas McKie Parker married Ellen Jane McGraw he married as Thomas McKie, dropping the Parker. His marriage certificate showed his mother as Ellen McKie.
MARRIAGE: Thomas McKie married Ellen Jane McGraw on the 8th September 1903 at Lochnaw, Leswalt, Co. of Wigtown, Scotland, after banns according to the forms of the Church of Scotland.
Thomas was aged 22 years, a bachelor and his occupation was Ploughman. He was the son of Thomas mckie, also a Ploughman and Helen McKie (nee Parker)
Ellen was aged 18 years, a spinster and her occupation was Domestic Servant. She was daughter of Andrew McGraw, Ploughman (deceased) and Agnes McGraw (nee McKillop) (deceased)
Witnesses to the wedding were Alex. Clanachan and Annie McGraw ( who it's presumed was a sister to Ellen)
The marriage entry was signed by: J. Balfour Robertson, Minister of Leswalt.
This information was taken from a Marriage Transcription, which was taken from the Scottish Births, Deaths and Marriages Registers held in Edinburgh, Scotland. Transcription was by Joy Murrin - Family History Services, NSW, Australia.
DEATH: When Thomas McKie died in 1937 the name Parker once more emerged when it was put on his death certificate. The certificate had Thomas McKie Parker on it and the informant who signed the certificate was one of his sons, Thomas McKie. It makes one wonder why none of the other brothers and sisters didn't know about this
