William Phillip Hall and Elizabeth Martha Taylor
William Phillip Hall born 1853 in Wiltshire, England was a carpenter. He married Elizabeth Martha Taylor who was born in England in 1855.They had 4 children, Alice 1876, Minnie 1876, Agnes 1880 and William 1882.
William Hall arrived in Australia in 1882 aboard the MV NORTHERN MONARCH. His fare was Two English Pounds. His first known address was Ferdinand St, Balmain.
Elizabeth and the children followed and arrived September 17th 1886 aboard the MV PORT PIRIE.
Cecil Claude Hall was born 8th June 1891 in Peak Hill, NSW. His father William Phillip Hall must have died before 1896 as Elizabeth Martha remarried to Mr. James Jaconson in Parkes NSW. Elizabeth Martha died in Sutherland NSW in 1922.

Cecil Claude Hall enlisted in the AIF on 24th May 1916 at Bathurst NSW. He was 24 years and 11 months old at the time. Private Cecil Hall No. 1222 was in the 5th LTMB ( Light Trench Mortar Battery) He was born in Peak Hill NSW.
He embarked from Australia on the "Ceramic" on 7th October 1016 and disembarked at Plymouth 21st November 1916. He served in England and France. He spent 8 days in Norfolk & Norwich Hospital from 23rd September 1917 to 1st October 1917 with gunshot wounds to Right elbow and Hip.
He was reported missing in action 20th April 1918 and prisoner of war in German hands on 22nd May 1918. On 23rd May 1918 he was reported as prisoner of war and wounded. He was repatriated back to England on 16th December 1918 and granted leave. His leave expired on 14th January 1919 and he was sent to Weymouth at own request.. Cecil arrived back in Australia on 2nd April 1919 and was discharged on 11th May 1919.
After WW1 ended Cecil had a fruit stall at the Sydney markets.
