                 Charles Barnett Watson enlisted in the AIF on  12th April 1916. His occupation at the time was put down as labourer. He was Private no 3050 and was in the 57th Battalion.

                He was 19 years and 11 months old, 5ft 7" tall and weighed 131 lbs when he enlisted. His chest measurement was 31/33.5". Complexion was ruddy, eyes blue and hair brown.

                He had a scar on his abominable wall from an operation for Hydatis 3 years previous. He also had a scar on right shin.

                He embarked Sydney on the "Afrio" on the 3rd November 1916 and disembarked Plymouth 9th January 1917. He returned to Australia from England on 31st October 1917  for discharge-- Debility; arriving in Australia 15th November 1917. He was discharged on 5th February 1918. According to his papers he spent a total of about 3 months in hospital while over there.
