George Mould Wade's occupation at first was a Butcher. In August 1904 he joined the Victorian Police. On the 7th October 1919 he was commended for ability, tact and zeal displayed in conjunction with Constable's Martin 4976, Corey 4811 and Birch 5088 effecting the arrest and conviction of notorious criminals named Francis Duggan, Leslie Parker, Thomas Cook and Charles William Newman, sentenced to various terms of imprisonment at the Court of General Sessions in Melbourne on 6th September 1919.
George was discharged from the Police Service on 1st November 1923. Police report said his conduct was good, until date of refusing duty. Discharged on account of refusing duty.
George served 19 years and 3 months with the Police.
After being discharged from the Police he bought a shop at Moonee Ponds, Victoria
