2. THOMAS² BIRCHARD (WILLIAM¹ BIRCHER) was born August 12, 1595 in Fairsted, Essex, England, and died Abt. 1684. He married MARY ROBINSON October 23, 1620 in Fairsted, Essex, England, daughter of HENRY ROBINSON and ELIZABETH ORVICE.

Notes for THOMAS BIRCHARD: Embarked for New England in "True Love" September 20, 1635 with wife Mary and 6 daughters. Thomas Bircher made freeman 17 May 1637, and Thomas Birchwood or Birchard of Hartford in 1639 probably the same person. He is subsequently found at Saybrook and was deputy from that township to the General Court in 1650 and 1651. There was a land sale of Martha's Vineyard in 1656 to William Pratt by Thomas Birchard, wherein he quits claim for himself on behalf of his son John Birchard. History of New London County, Vol. 1, Pp. 258.

Came in "True Love" Sep, 1635 with daugther Elizabeth age 13, Marie 12, Sarah 9, Susan 8, John 7, Ann 18 months. Pioneers of Mass. Pp. 50.
