These pages contain some of the many County Down people recorded on the Ellis Island database at www.Ellisisland.org I have tried to be as accurate as possible but welcome notification of any transcription errors spotted. Although many of those listed were found using the Ellis Island search facility many others were found using Dr Stephen Moore's excellent 'One Step' Ellis Island search tools at http://www.jewishgen.org/databases/eidb/ellis.html (a must for those who cant be found in the normal way). If anyone has details of other County Down people recorded at Ellis Island please let me have their name, the name of the ship, their date of arrival, and last place of residence and I will be pleased to look them up and add them to the list on the next update. 

Notes: 1. what I give as the last place of residence is not necessarily the place where the person came from but rather perhaps the place where they were signed up to go to in America.   2. These pages are only a guide. The information is good for highlighting relationships between people and places however it is important that you check the actual records themselves to satisfy yourself that the person concerned actually traveled to the place recorded in the ships manifest.
