Great Grandmother Jane Morgan was born about 1856. She married John Meaney on 13th February 1877 at Leitrim Roman Catholic Chapel[1]. She was resident in the Townland of Backaderry at the time of marriage. Her father Patrick Morgan was a tailor. The witnesses were Jas Smyth and Elizabeth Morgan who may have been a sister.

Jane died on December 8^th 1916 aged 66 at Tullymore and is buried in St. Mary’s churchyard[2] Newcastle. The cause of death is certified as ‘Malignant Disease of Liver’[3]. Her husband John was present at her death.
