Jesse Alfred Allison was born 18 January 1842 in Tennessee. He was the son of James and Nancy (Johnson) Allison. He served in the Union Army during the Civil War. He belonged to Infantry Co. B, 50th Regiment of Missouri Volunteers and was a nurse at the Cape Girardeau Missouri Army Hospital.
On 8 January 1864 he was married to Susannah (Bay) Dennison. She was born 21 February 1841. She was married first to Mr. Dennison and they were parents of two children, James Dennison, born ca 1859, and Elizabeth Dennison, born ca 1862.
Jesse A. Allison died 25 September 1897. Susannah died 27 May 1908. They are both buried at the Pumpkin Hollow Cemetery in Reynolds County, Missouri.
Jesse and Susannah were the parents of eight children:
(1) Joseph James Allison was born 22 September 1865 at Ironton, Iron County, Missouri. He married Ella Ann Julian.
(2) David John Allison was born 23 October 1867. He married Dora Hester Dace and Katy Sears.
(3) Parmelia Jane Allison was born 15 January 1870. She married Sam Cox.
(4) Francis Marion Allison was born 24 January 1871. He married Emma Christian.
(5) Rosetta Emma Allison was born 21 August 1874. She married Jerry Christian.
(6) Nancy Loretta Allison was born 18 September 1876. She married William P. Shrum.
(7) Walter Alfred Allison was born 3 September 1878. He married Gertrude Myrtle Walker.
(8) Mary Louise Allison. She was born 1882 and died the same year.
