John Sutton Allison was born 2 June 1858 in Missouri. He was the son of James and Nancy (Johnson) Allison. He was a farmer and merchant.
On 2 February 1882 in Reynolds County, Missouri, he was married to Lucy E. Chronister. She was born 3 April 1861.
John S. Allison died 14 December 1920 in Reynolds County, Missouri. Lucy died 16 February 1944. They are both buried at the Pumpkin Hollow Cemetery in Reynolds County, Missouri.
They were the parents of ten children:
(1) James W. Allison was born 5 February 1884. He married Ida J. Phillips.
(2) Charles D. Allison was born 27 January 1886. He married Maud ______.
(3) Jesse F. Allison was born 16 August 1888. He died 29 September 1907 and is buried at the Pumpkin Hollow Cemetery in Reynolds County, Missouri.
(4) Anna Allison was born 4 October 1891.
(5) Ada E. Allison was born 23 February 1893. She married Grover Baker.
(6) John W. Allison was born 25 February 1895. He married Joyce Jackson.
(7) Cora G. Allison was born 18 February 1897. She married Mr. McMurry.
(8) Wava Jane Allison was born 24 December 1899. She married Charles Chitwood.
(9) Thomas E. Allison was born 14 December 1903.
(10) Daisy E. Allison was born 29 July 1905.
