David Eli Berryman was born ca 1872 in Missouri. He was the son of Mr. and Elizabeth (Allison) Barton. When his mother remarried to Robert Berryman, he took the Berryman surname and kept it the rest of his life.
Nothing is known of his first marriage. He remarried to Ida Lee (Speer) Slade.
Eli Berryman died 14 March 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri. He is buried at St. Matthews Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.
They had five children:
(1) Otho Ray Berryman was born 29 August 1908 in Ellington, Reynolds County, Missouri. He was married to Thelma Cope.
(2) Lena Marie Berryman was born 30 March 1911 and died 15 March 1918 of spinal meningitis. She was buried at Little Prairie Cemetery in Caruthersville, Pemiscot County, Missouri.
(3) William Robert Berryman was born 20 December 1912. He was married to Dorothy Elizabeth Onkle and Edna Marie Hovis.
(4) Alma Louise Berryman was born 18 August 1920 at Leeper, Wayne County, Missouri. She was married to Earl B. Smith.
(5) Wilma Jane Berryman. She married Mr. Butza.
