William Glenn Weman was born 10 August 1924, the son of Carl Henry and Dorothy (Sago) Weman. He married Sally Ann Foss. She was born 6 August 1931. Glenn Weman died 1984 in San Mateo, California.
Glenn joined the U.S. Navy in 1941 at the beginning of World War II. He served as a medic on a destroyer in the Pacific Theatre. He stayed in the Navy after the war and in 1948 was on the last destroyer out of China when it turned Communist. He returned to San Francisco and told his family that when their ship sailed under the Golden Gate Bridge and into the safety of the Bay, everyone on board cried like babies. He spent the next year as a driver for Admiral Boone on the Treasure Island base in the San Francisco Bay. After he left the Navy he began working for the San Mateo County Housing Authority and eventually worked his way up to executive director.
Glenn and his wife were the parents of two children:
(1) Karin Weman.
(2) Susan "Sue" Weman.
