    1. Each of you is deserving of his share of credit in the successful completion of the North African campaign. Each of you may well take a personal pride in the defeat of the enemy, for it was through your willing cooperation and hard work that the fighters of the III Air Support Command were able to perform at their maximum efficiency. The early warning and control of aircraft has played no small part in the Tunisian campaign, and I, as Commanding Officer of the Third Wing, have received only the highest compliments for the fine work you have done.

    2. The fact that we are the first American troops to furnish early warning and control in the forward areas adds to the satisfaction that you should all feel in this victory. Because you have worked hard and done your jobs well, you have definitely established the practicability of this type of organization.

    3. To each officer and enlisted man of the Third Wing, I wish to extend my sincerest appreciation for the loyalty, interest, and unhesitating cooperation you have all shown me.

    4. My personal thanks to each of you for a job well done.
