CADWELL, HENRY

Henry Cadwell(d.), was b. Glasgow, Scot., 1826; d, 1887. In early youth he came to Canada with his parents, who were pioneers in Wellesley Tp. He lived there until 1856, when he started life on his own account, purchasing a bush farm of 100 acres, lot 2, con. 7, Maryborough, on which he settled.

This farm he cleared and had all of the experience of a pioneer life. He was a successful man, a good citizen, and held in high esteem. He was a member of the Methodist church, and in politics was a Conservative.

He m. Mary A. Welsh. Issue: James (d.), John, Mrs. Alex. Fleming, Isabella and Robert, who m. Martha J. Adams. John succeeded to the homestead where he now resides. He m. Minnie A. Gillatly. Issue: James E., John A., and Irene M. Like his respected father, he is a representative and successful citizen.
