FAULKNER, BENJAMIN D.

Benjamin D. Faulkner was born 1828 in Yorkshire, England and died in 1893, age 65. He came to Canada in 1847, and worked in York until 1855, when he came to Mornington Tp., and purchased farm, west lot 2, con. 14, which he cleared and lived upon. He was a very successful farmer. He started with little means, and a large property, besides giving his children a start in life.

He was actively interested in church work, being a local preacher for years, and held most of the offices of his church, the Methodist. He was Conservative in politics.

He married Mary Armstrong in Vaughan Tp., York Co., in 1851, who is now living at the age of 74. Issue: Mrs. James Bartley, Wallace Tp.; John G., Thomas, Maryborough; Joseph, Maryborough; Mrs. James Salter, Palmerston; Mary E., Man.; Mrs. R. J. Moore, Mornington; Mrs. D. McAllister, Wallace; Benjamin D., JR., Mornington.

John G., born in Markham, 1854, owns and operates 200 acres, lot 1, con. 1, Maryborough Tp. His father started him with 50 acres, and the balance (150 acres) Mr. Faulkner has acquired by own industry. He is a first class and very successful farmer, with up-to-date and well improved farm, and takes a leading position in community. He has held most of the offices of the Methodist church and is a Conservative in politics. In 1880 he married Ellen Patterson, Mornington. Issue: Wesley H. and William H., both at home. �
