WHITE, THOMAS

Thomas White was b. Thornhill in 1814, d. 1892, age 78. He set. in Arthur Tp., on the Owen Sound road, in 1853.

The late Thomas White served ten years as Constable in Thornhill, and held the same office for ten yeas after he came to Mount Forest. He was also Tax Collector for several years. He m. Kate Fulton, who d. in 1900, age 86. Issue: Isaac, Mich; Thomas H., Robert Gerrie, Mrs. Muir, and Mrs. Richard Scott, Arthur Tp., and Mrs. Armstrong, Teviotdale.

Of these, Thomas Henry, b. 1852, Richmond Hill, owns 103 acres lot 5, O.S.R. , 50 acres of which he inherited from his father. He lived with his father until his death in 1892, and then started for himself . He has been a hard worker and greatly respected by the entire community. He is a Methodist and Conservative. In 1889, he m. Esther Grimshaw of Egermont. Issue: Henry and Edward.
