204. Rufus STURGES ⁽⁷¹⁾ was born about 1784 in Rensselaer Co,NY. He died on 14 Oct 1858. He was buried in Disciples Baptist Church Cemetery,Pittstown,Rensselaer,NY. Rufus Sturges was born about 1784/5, at Rensselaer County, N.Y. and died 14 Oct 1858. He was buried next to his first wife in the Disciples Baptist Church Cemetery, at Pittstown,N.Y.

Rufus Sturges was married to Jemima (?), as his second wife.

On 21 Sept 1819, Rufus Sturges was appointed as guardian of Abigail Margaret Brayton Sturges, William Rufus Sturges, Eliza Sturges and Daniel Henry Sturges, grandchildren of David Brayton and heirs in his will of 24 May 1814.

The Census of 1855 lists the occupation for Rufus Sturges as cabinet maker and records his residence as with the family of Edmund Wright, of Pittstown, N.Y.

205. Polly BRAYTON ⁽⁷²⁾ was born about 1784. She died on 30 Aug 1816. She was buried in Disciples Baptist Church Cemetery,Pittstown,Rensselaer,NY. Polly Sturges was named as a beneficiary in the 24 May 1814 Rensselaer County will of her father, David Brayton "sum of fifty dollars to Polly Sturges or her children if she is not living within three years after my decease......also give & devise unto my daughter Polly Sturges & her children after her decease a certain lot of land bounded on the south by the mason line called by the name of the martain lot excepting out of the lot the one half which have before bequeathed unto my wife Abigail Brayton". Children were:

i. Abigail Margaret Brayton STURGES⁽⁷³⁾ was born on 6 Apr 1808. She died about 1855. Listed as a beneficiary in the 24 May 1814 Rensselaer County will of her grandfather, David Brayton "sum of fifty dollars to my grand daughter Abigail Sturges when she shl become eighteen years of age." She was married to John Adams Brackett, as his second wife, and by him had five children.
ii. William Rufus STURGES⁽⁷⁴⁾ was born on 28 May 1810. He died about 1865.
iii. Eliza STURGES⁽⁷⁵⁾ was born on 25 Apr 1813.
