"Rev. Elisha Ellis was born in Niles, NY, in 1837. In 1856, he married Miss
Lovina Welden, and they have three children: Edwin, born 1858; Egbert, 1866,
and Clark, 1874. Mr. Ellis was ordained as a minister in the Christian denomination
in 1869, to which he gives his entire time and labor. He resides at Westbury,
Cayuga Co, NY. Mr. Ellis was a soldier in the Union army three years."
Per Jane Rasbeck (1990):
"Elisha Ellis was born in the year of 1837 in Canton, New York. In the year
of 1856, Elisha married Lovina M. Wheat. She also was from Canton and was born
in 1837. They moved to Westbury, New York sometime after 1874. He was a Christian
Science Minister.
Elisha and Lovina had three sons. Their names are: Edwin - born in 1858 and died
in 1942, Egbert - born in 1866 and died in 1946 and Clark Samuel - born in 1874
and died in 1937. Elisha died in 1903. Lovina died in 1930. They both are buried
in the cemetery at Westbury, NY."

Died 10 Dec 1903, aged 66 yrs, 4 mos, 21 days, occupation of retired clergyman,
born in Niles NY, cause of death: cerebral hemorrhage. Served in Company D of
the 141st Regiment, NY Vol Infantry. He was married to Lovina Myra WELDON on
3 Jan 1856 in Caton,Steuben,NY.

Lovina Myra WELDON was born on 1 Jun 1837 in Otsego County,NY. She died
in 1930. Per Jane Rasbeck (1990):
"In the year of 1856, Elisha married Lovina M. Wheat. She also was from
Canton and was born in 1837 ...... Lovina died in 1930 .... buried in the cemetery
at Westbury, NY"
Date and place of birth from pension papers dated 30 Sep 1916 (Widow's Certificate
#575138).
Per pension papers, marriage was performed at Caton, NY on 3 Jan 1856 by the
Rev. S.M. Broakman, M.G. Children were:
