19724. George PLATT ⁽²¹²⁾ was baptized on 13 May 1582 in Ware,Hertford,England. He was buried on 20 Apr 1609 in Ware,Hertford,England. "George Platt was baptised at Ware on 13 May 1582. Since he was married about 1597-8 and his eldest child was baptised on 23 July 1598, the compiler was suspicious of the accuracy of the date of George's own baptism. However, Miss Freda Podmore triple-checked the Ware Parish Registers, and not only is the date of George's baptism correct, but there is no record of any earlier George Platt. There is a gap of almost seven years between George's baptism and that of Sarah, his next older sister; perhaps George was born before 1582 and not baptised in infancy, though there is no evidence that the Platt family held anti-paedo-baptist views. Perhaps George was in fact born in 1582 and married at an unusually early age for the end of the sixteenth century, though such an age for marriage would not have been so unusual a century earlier.

George Platt was a tailr like his father, and was to receive 12d. according to his father's will in 1594. He was not named at all in his mother's will in 1598. She may have been displeased with George because of his early marriage, or she may have portioned him at the time of his wedding. George Platt was taxed on 20s. worth of land in the year 1604, and the amount of the assessment was 2s. 8d. He was the testator of 1609, and was buried at Ware on 20 Apr 1609. He married, about 1597-8, Mary _____, who survived him and was executrix of his will." - Coddington (1955) He was married to Mary about 1597.

19725. Mary⁽²¹²⁾. "Mary's burial does not appear in the Ware Parish Registers, and since she was a young widow, it is likely that she remarried in another parish." - Coddington (1955) Children were:

i. George PLATT⁽²¹²⁾ was baptized on 23 Jul 1598 in Ware,Hertford,England. He was buried on 15 Jul 1625 in Ware,Hertford,England. Named in his father's will in 1609, probably never married.
ii. William PLATT⁽²¹²⁾ was baptized on 26 Oct 1600 in Ware,Hertford,England. Named in his father's will in 1609, married and later moved to London.
9862 iii. Richard PLATT.
iv. Mary PLATT⁽²¹²⁾ was baptized on 23 Mar 1605/6 in Ware,Hertford,England. Named in her father's will in 1609.
v. Elizabeth PLATT⁽²¹²⁾ was baptized on 7 Aug 1608 in Ware,Hertford,England. She was buried on 5 Oct 1608 in Ware,Hertford,England.
