"John Alsop married Anne Alsop, a descendant of his great-grandfather's
brother, and became the first master of the Alsop estate to unite two of the
Alsop families of Derbyshire. It was about this time, 1575, that the existing
Alsop ancestral home was built, presumably made possible by the union of two
of the more prosperous Alsop families in the area." He was married to Anne
ALSOP about 1575.
