COUNTY CLARE -
The  County of Clare, in the Province of Munster,  is bounded to the west by the Atlantic, north by Galway, and east and south by the Shannon which separates it from Tipperary, Limerick, and Kerry.  It is divided into 79 parishes and has two market towns.  It breeds more horses than any other county in Ireland, beside a great number of cattle and sheep.   Pop. 209,595. Capital, Ennis."
