COUNTY ROSCOMMON -
The County of Rosscommon, in the Province of Connaught, is bounded to the east by Longford and Westmeath, south by Galway, west by Mayo, north  by Sligo, and north-east by Leitrim.  It is a flat open coutry, in some places sprinkled with rocks, in many, interrupted by extensive bogs, and but little diversified by hills.  The Shannon divides it from Longford and Westmeath, and the Suck from Galway. It has excellent pastures. Pop. 207,777."

The above map of County Roscommon is colorised to show the distribution or settlement of the Darmody and Dermody families according to the International Genealogical Index and the Griffiths Valuation (which is detailed below).

The IGI and Griffiths Valuation have been grouped in Parish or Location areas rather than by name - this is to make it easier to see other possible connections to the family.

There are no references to Darmody or Dermody in the International Genealogical Index in the County of Roscommon.
