Michael Pfautz appears in the passenger lists of the Ship William and Sarah,
1727. (According to records in the Heimatstelle Pfalz, Kaiserslautern,
Hans Michael Pfautz, son of Hans Michael Pfautz, village mayor (Schultheiss),
was born about 1680-82, at Rohrbach, Kreis Sinsheim. He was the innkeeper
of the Tree Inn (Baumwirt) at Rohrbach, and was married on February 10,
1702, at Steinsfurt, (Church Register, Rohrbach) to Ursula Muhlenhauser
of Steinsfurt, Reformed, daughter of Hans Jacob Muhlenhauser of Steinsfurt.
The emigration party consisted of five persons. On March 22, 1727,
Michael Pfautz sold his property (Haus, Hof u. Acker) for 650 florins to
the beerbrewer Hans Adam Tracken at Neckargemund.
Hans Michael Pfautz settled in "Conestoga," Lancaster County, Pa.
In 1737 he had six children: Hans Michael, Hans Jacob, Johannes, Andreas,
Anna Margaretha Wiederer, and Anna Barbara Weller. Pfautz's Valley
in Perry County, on the west side of the Susquehanna, is named for his
family.
