The Heise's originated in Zägensdorf, Kreis Arnswald, Prussia (now Zeliszewo) and came to Marathon County. At the the tiime the town of Stettin encompassed what is now Rib Falls, WI in 1856. Rib Falls became a town in the 1870's. Three brothers made the trek August, Frank, and Ferdinand. Recently, I am suspecting that Frank and Ferdinand may have actually been step-brothers.

August Heise was born on Sept 15, 1830 in Zägensdorf, Kreis Arnswald, Prussia (now Zeliszewo) and died on Feb 22, 1918 in the town of Rib Falls, WI. Contained on a family sheet it was stated that Fred Heise was the father of August. It also stated that August had a step-father named Johann Michael Wilde who married August's mother Johanna Louise Schroeder. It seems Fred may have died at a young age. On Feb 1, 1873, August was granted 40 acres in the town of Rib Falls. He lived in Rib Falls, WI where he was a farmer. He was of the German Protestant faith

He married Augusta Krueger who was born on Feb 2, 1832 in Prussia and died December 5, 1932 in Iowa. He is buried with Johanne Krueger whose name may have been changed or oringally been Augusta.

August and Augusta had 7 children. Ferdinand Heise was my descendant and was born on Jan 3, 1866.. Ferdinand married Ida Edith Hoffman on Dec 9, 1890 and they had 6 children. On Dec 3, 1932, Ferdinand drowned in Lake Wausua . It seems Ida moved to Iowa. She was buried in Memorial Park, Iowa on Dec. 5, 1952.

Elsa Heise was born in April of 1891 to Ferdiand and Ida in Rib Falls, Wisconsin. She was married to Eric C. Bartelt son of Gottlieb and Emma Gralow on Oct 30, 1909 in Wausau, WI. About 1911, they moved to Muscatine, Iowa. They had 7 children, one of which died at low age. In 1924, Elsa passed at the young age of 33.
