Talladega County

My CHANDLER, DUNCAN and MORRIS families all spring from Talladega County.

Talladega College is located here, it is Alabama's oldest historically African American, private, four-year liberal arts college.  It was founded in 1867 by freedmen William Savery and Thomas Tarrant, who were assisted by General Wagner Swayne of the Freedmen's Bureau and the American Missionary Association.

Russell County

My BRADLEY tree starts in Russell County, Alabama, but moved across the river to Georgia late in the 19th century.
