The descendency from this son is assumed. I have found info about a Jordan Skiles, and a gravestone at Bethel Presbyterian Cemetery for Richard Jordon Skiles who I am hypothesizing is the same person as the Richard P. Skiles found as a son in the James P. Skiles family in 1860.
More names listed in the vacinity of Richard Jordan Skiles' grave at Bethel Pres. Cemetery:
Thomas A. Skiles 1886-1913
Bella Orr Skiles 1868-1911
Harry Allison Skiles 1888-1953
Clarence Wilkin Skiles 1881-1926 wife of Harry A. Skiles
Mary G. Skiles 1913-1995
Virginia C. Skiles 1909-1986
(Mary G. and Virginia C. shared a gravestone)
Will look for info to prove these are children and g-grandchildren of Jordan Skiles.
***The following and previous info was confirmed AND corrected by Dolores ([email protected]) from her Roach family research. Info in brackets [] are her corrections! Jane was William Roach's second wife, Annie Skiles' mother was Mary Collins.
In the 1900 Census for Snowden Twp, Allegheny Co. PA, I found the following family. Are they Annie Roach's parents? Is Thomas Skiles the son of Jordan and Annie?
William Roach Feb 1828 72 PA/PA/PA farmer
Jane E. Roach May 1837 63 PA/PA/PA
Thomas Roach Aug 1855 44 PA/PA/PA farmer
Ella C. Roach Oct 1862 38 PA/PA/PA
Frank E. [Frances Emma] Roach Mar 1870 30 PA/PA/PA (listed as daughter)
Enid [Eva] H. Roach May 1872 28 PA/PA/PA
Thomas Skiles Aug 1886 (age illeg)[13] PA/PA/PA (grandson)
