Regiment, (Darnell's on January 20 ,1862.
Mustered into regiment by John Coit on March 15,1862.
Mustering in occurred in Dallas, Dallas County, Texas.
Present on all rolls until January 11,1863 when his
name appears on a roster of soldiers from the 18th
Regiment Dismounted Texas Cavalry that were captured
at Fort Hindman, Arkansas Post. It then appears on a
list of prisoners at Camp Douglas, Illinois on February
8,1863.Paroled at Camp Douglas Illinois on April
2,1863 and sent to City Point Virginia on April
10,1863.He then appears again as present on company
muster roll for Mar/Apr 1864. Name appears on a list
of Prisoners of war that were captured by the 15th
Army Corp under General Sherman, near Atlanta Ga on
July 22,1864 and forwarded on July 24 to the Provost
Marshall General, Department of the Cumberland. Sent to
Nashville on July 29,1864 and on to Louisville
Kentucky, arriving there on July 29,1864. On July
30,he was sent on to Camp Chase, Ohio, arriving there
August 1,1864. Transferred after parole to City Point
Virginia on March 2,1865 for exchange. No further
record.

Corsicana Invincibles and Navarro Rifles: One group of volunteers from Navarro County, calling themselves "The Corsicana Invincibles," were incorporated into Company E of the Texas 1st Infantry Regiment. Another group, known as "The Navarro Rifles," comprised Company I of the Texas 4th Infantry Regiment. See John W. Spencer, From Corsicana to Appomattox: The Story of the Corsicana Invincibles and the Navarro Rifles (Corsicana, TX: Texas Press, 1984), pp. 1-9. 

3rd Cavalry/9th Cavalry/Ross' Brigade:
The Texas 3rd and 9th Cavalry Regiments were part of Ross' Brigade (for a time Whitfield's-Ross' Brigade) from August 1863 to May 1865. See Stewart Sifakis, Compendium of the Confederate Armies: Texas (New York, Oxford: Facts on File, 1995), pp. 48, 62.

12th Cavalry/Morgan's Battalion/Parsons's Brigade:
