My tree starts with Howard Higgins
married Annie M McNally, gave birth to
Harry Francis Higgins who married Zelma Butler,
Zelma and Harry Higgins gave birth to Marianna, Albert,
Harriet, Anna Catherine. I am Marianna's daughter. I would
like any information you have on Harry, Howard or his father also a
Harry.
I would love to get info on the other Higgins from
Baltimore/Annapolis, etc area.

My great-great grandfather, Wales Higgins, was born
somewhere in New York State on 18 January, 1823 and
died in Allen County, Indiana 26 March, 1897. No
known descendant knows who his parents were but census
records consistently show his father born in
Massachusetts and mother in Virginia. Wales shows up
in Erie County, Ohio by 1842 marrying Mary E. Higgins
there and starting a family.
For years I and other descendants have tried to find
his ancestry and can’t.
Do you have any suggestions?

the Indiana border).

Seeking info on my G’father, Dennis
Higgins. He was born in Ireland, circa 1853. I get the date
from US Census Records. I have not been able to find any information
on his roots in Ireland. Once in the US he lived all his life in
South Amboy, NJ. Dennis died there on May 19, 1928. All paper I have
found here in the US only says “Ireland” for birth data. One piece
of paper I have not found is any info on naturalization. Gladly
accept any thoughts, or direction from more accomplished hunters.

I am looking for the names of my Great-grandfather,
Samual Higgins.
He was born in NY on March 13, 1814, and sometime thereafter he
moved to Shelby, Indiana where he lived until he died on July 12,
1898. He stated in the 1880 Census that both his parents were born
in NY, this may or may not be true. It means that they were born in
NY at least 1770. Was there any Higgins’s in NY at that time?
Webmaster's notes:
a) Yes there were Higgins' in New York, as well as Maine, Vermont
and other New England States back to the
early 1700's if not earlier.
b) as for the place of birth of Samuel, each census states the same info.
The only variation is on Rebecca's census, it
states Pa & Oh.)
