I am Jim Miller. Oh, wait, you probably already knew that.

I am a sophomore at St. Bonaventure University (the first right turn past the middle of nowhere) in Olean, New York. I'm a journalism major, and am the news editor of the school paper, the aptly (if dully) named Bona Venture.

I was born. Most people are, you know, at one time or another. It's simply one of the facts of life. In my case, that particular blessed event (or cursed event, depending on your point of view) took place on November 25, 1982, in the lovely town of Rochester, NY. I guess that makes me 19, though I can't quite believe that's the case. I never was much good at math, I'm afraid, so it is quite possible that I may have made a counting error somewhere.

I graduated from the Aquinas Institute of Rochester in June, 2001, and hope never to see the grim facade of that building again.

Before my time at Aquinas, I attended Northeastern Catholic Junior High School (brevity, obviously, was not high on the list of things that they taught) and various public grammar schools.

When not toiling away over hot computers in the newsroom, or slogging through cold snow on my way to class, I attempt to keep myself as busy as I can.

I enjoy reading (sometimes even my assigned reading for class) as well as messing around online and hanging out with friends. I also enjoy traveling, when I get the chance to do so. I've been to London, Quebec, Washington, Toronto, Liverpool (don't ask) and Maine. Watching TV isn't bad either, and I also enjoy researching my family tree

Yes, dear reader, you are correct. I have no life whatsoever.

Seriously, though, I also enjoy photography and kayaking.

My favorite place to kayak (Ok, in all honesty the only place I ever kayak) is Pemaquid Point, Maine. (Get out a really detailed map and look up north of Bath and Wiscasset, but south of Camden.) I'm never happier than when gliding along the water on a choppy day, watching the islands slip by.

I am single, and hopelessly so. Girls, feel free to come knocking on my door any time. I'm sorry for that shameless singles ad, but the temptation was just too great for me to resist.

I hate math. That was a random thought I had just now, and I'm sure you'll forgive me for including it here amidst the important (relatively speaking) facts of my life.

Back in high school (we're really getting into ancient history now!) I was involved with the school paper, the Maroon and White. In my senior year, I was one of three co-captains (again, don't ask) of the school's Master Minds team, of which I had been a member since freshman year. For the first time in anyone's memory, we finished with a winning record (8 wins, 4 losses) and even beat the evil empire that is McQuaid Jesuit twice.

Oh dear. I'm waxing nostalgic now. Enough is enough!
