"Martha M. Wilcox, 91, of 1 Sherwood St., Wellsboro, died Friday, Oct. 22, 1982 at the Green Home, Wellsboro.

"Her husband Claude Wilcox died in 1935.

"She was born July 29, 1891 at Clyde, N. Y., the daughter of Fred and Mary Clabby Miller.

"She was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church and its Altar and Rosary Society.

"Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Marie Hubba, of Wellsboro, and Mrs. Claudia Woodson, of Richmond, Va.; three sons, Richard of Port Charlotte Fla., Jack of Wellsboro, and Frederick of Corning, N. Y.; two sisters [named]... 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren [The Wellsboro Gazette, Oct. 27, 1982]."

Martha's husband Claude was a talented violinist, and the conductor of an orchestra. He initially worked as a bank clerk and later was in the management at the "Borden Company."

Both Martha and Claude were members of the Catholic Church.

Martha married Claude Charles WILCOX on 17 Oct 1916 in Wellsboro, Tioga Co., Pa. Claude was born 24 Jan 1894 in Antrim, Pa. He died May 1935 in Blossburg, Tioga Co., Pa.

Margaret was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Wellsboro, Tioga County, Pennsylvania. She worked for the Corning Glass Works and was later employed in a gift shop at the Grand Canyon.

Her first husband graduated from the Jefferson School of Law at the University of Louisville in 1921. Both husbands predeceased Margaret, who lived to the ripe old age of ninety seven.

In 1921, Clara was living in Kane, Pa. In 1949, she was in Ozone Park, NY, and in 1954 she resided in Hicksville, NY. She lived to the age of ninety-nine.

Clara married Ivan ALDRIDGE.

57. Anselm Dennis MILLER "Anse" 1, 2 (Jane Ann CLABBY , James , James ) was born 21 May 1901 in Barnesville, Belmont Co., Ohio. He died 16 Jun 1985 in Roanoke, Roanoke Co., Va.

Anselm had a scholarship at Notre Dame, and after graduating moved to Roanoke, Virginia, where he was president of Virginia Metal Manufacturing Company and of several banks. During World War Two, he was president of Roanoke's War Production Board.

At his death, he was survived by ten grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Anse married Edana QUINN on 5 Sep 1924 in Port Allegany, McKean Co., Pa. Edana was born 17 Apr 1900. She died Oct 1993 in Roanoke, Roanoke Co., Va.

59. William John MILLER "Bill" 1, 2, 3, 4 (Jane Ann CLABBY , James , James ) was born 3 May 1905 in Roulette Potter Co., Pa. He died 17 Mar 1988 in Rochester, Monroe Co., NY.

Bill graduated from the University of Rochester in 1931 (he was president of his freshmen class), and later obtained a masters degree. He became a Social Studies teacher at Charlotte High School in Rochester, and was head of the department for a time. During his college years he had worked as a journalist for various Rochester papers. At one time he was court reporter and for a number of years he had a weekly column called "Majoring in Life." Around 1927, he got to interview George Eastman.
During his retirement, he was an avid genealogist and enjoyed golf and bowling.

Bill married Katherine Josephine LEFEVRE "Kay", daughter of Wallace Ropes LEFEVRE and Mary Elizabeth WHELAN, on 14 Jul 1934 in Newark, NJ. Kay was born 7 Nov 1909 in Jersey City, NJ. She died 27 Jul 1999 in Rochester, Monroe Co., NY.

"In the Church of the Immaculate Conception on Thursday, July 1, Miss Dolores A. Bisky, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Augustus A. Bisky of Frost Avenue, and Mr. George D. Bryant, son of Mrs. Martha M. Bryant of this city, were united in marriage by the Rev. Joseph S. Cameron, who also celebrated the nuptual mass. Mr. Hubert A. Bisky, brother of the bride, and Mr. Leonard Kelly, both students of St. Bernards Seminary, served on the altar. The Rt. Rev. J. Francis O'Hearn, V. G., and the Rev. John Keefe were in the sanctuary.

"The Church was decorated for the ceremony with pink and white peonies and palms. The wedding music from "Lohengrin" was played as the bridal party entered the church, and Mendelssohns "Wedding March" was the recessional.

"The bride, who was unattended, was attired in a gown of white georgette with close bodice and bouffant skirt. Her hat was of white hairbraid and satin. She carried a shower bouquet of white roses and lilies of the valley.

"The ushers were Mr. T. Bernard Jones and Mr. Fred Weber.

"After the ceremony, breakfast was served to 40 guests at the Roanoke, in East Avenue. The house was prettily decorated with pink and white roses and palms.

"The bride is a graduate of the Music Conservatory of Nazareth Academy and is well known in the musical circles of the city.

"Mr. and Mrs. Bryant left on an extensive motor trip through the New England States, and will be at home after August 1, at 917 East Main street [date and paper unknown, but in Rochester, Monroe County, NY]."
