28. Bryan John MOGEN was born on Apr 28, 1923 in Ortonville, MN. He died of heart failure on Aug 17, 2008 in Milbank, SD. Bryan Mogen enlisted in the United States Navy in the fall of 1942, and after a year and a half he received the gold wings of a navy pilot at Penscolla Naval Air Station, Florida. After more training, he was assigned to Air Group 10 as a fighter-bomber pilot. His air group trained on the East coast and in the California desert, later going aboard a carrier, the Intrepid, CV 11, in San Francisco Bay in January of 1945. He was in the Okinawa campaign and his ship was hit by a kamikaze on April 16, 1945. He was in the air at the time of the attack and landed on the Yorktown, another carrier in the group. He later rejoined his group after the welders on his ship patched it up allowing a distressed landing. Later he was at Enewetak in the Marshall Islands, when the bomb was dropped—and the war ended. He flew 40 missions. In December of 1945, he was allowed to go home after discharge.

Brian was a career FBI agent, serving in New York City, Chicago, Minneapolis and Aberdeen, SD.

On March 19, 2007 Bryan reported the following memories:

"I should report that I can recall our grandfather (the day) he died. I believe in 1932 and my dad was called at this time --I was 9 years old -- a solemn telephone call at home. Not too long before he was in town driving a two door Ford and had a minor accident making a U-turn on main street causing a concern on (my) Dad's part which remains in my memory, also I recall he was in town (earlier) and patted me on the head and gave me a nickel or dime. He was robust and jolly to a small grandson. I also knew him somewhat when I spent time living with aunt Gena and Uncle August on their farm. Occasionally I would be at the grandparents farm."

Bryan John MOGEN and Ruth Elenor NORGAARD were married on Jan 25, 1948 in Brookings, SD. Ruth Elenor NORGAARD was born on Feb 18, 1924. She died on Nov 15, 2007 in Ortenville, MN. Bryan John MOGEN and Ruth Elenor NORGAARD had the following children:
