36. Bertha Lucille MOGEN was born on Dec 14, 1923 in Blooming Valley Twp, South Dakota. She died on Apr 9, 2007 in Portland, OR. Bertha moved to Portland in 1942 after high school. A high school friend had proceeded her, and convinced her to come to Portland to get out of the cold winters in South Dakota. Henry paid for the bus ticket and put her on the bus to come west. Bertha worked in the shipyards for a short time and then worked in various optical companies before marrying Gene Summerfield.

Bertha and Gene enjoyed their retirement until his death in 1992. She continues to live in the Portland area near her children. Bertha suffers from Alzheimers disease.

Bertha Lucille MOGEN and Spencer Eugene SUMMERFIELD were married on Dec 14, 1950 in Portland, OR. Spencer Eugene SUMMERFIELD was born on Jan 7, 1926. He died on Apr 9, 1992 in Portland, OR. After their marriage in 1950, the Summerfield's moved to central Oregon where Gene was the Jefferson County Sheriff for 17 years. Following that, they moved back to the Portland area where Gene worked for the City of Portland until his retirement in 1986. Bertha Lucille MOGEN and Spencer Eugene SUMMERFIELD had the following children:
