18. Oliver Mogen HOVLAND was born on Sep 11, 1910 in Blooming Valley Twp, South Dakota. He died on Oct 1, 2001 in Webster, SD. Oliver was born on the family farm in Blooming Valley Township south of Ortley. He was baptized and confirmed at Lebanon Lutheran Church. He attended country school near his home and graduated from Waubay High School in 1928. After graduation he farmed on the family farm until 1940 when he was appointed rural letter carrier for the Ortley route.

On July 10, 1949 he married Arlene Davidson at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Waubay. After their marriage the couple made their home in Ortley. He retired from the Postal Service in 1972 after 32 years as a rural mail carrier. After retirement, he worked at the State Bank of Waubay as a Vice President until retiring in 1979. He and Arlene spent the winter months in AZ for twenty years. In October of 1999 they moved to the Heritage Village in Webster.

Oliver Mogen HOVLAND and Arlene Oriette DAVIDSON were married on Jul 10, 1949. Arlene Oriette DAVIDSON was born on Oct 5, 1926. Oliver Mogen HOVLAND and Arlene Oriette DAVIDSON had the following children:
