My maternal grandfather was born
somewhere around Corning, Missouri in 1904. His name was Owen
Everett Knapp. I believe his father's name was Nathaniel and his
mother was Alta. His mother died while he was a child and he was
sent to live with foster parents in Springfield, South Dakota.
Their last name was Louden. My grandfather later adopted the last
name of Lowden so is known as Owen E. Lowden in official records.
Because my mother's parents divorced when she was young, information
concerning his background is sketchy. He had a cousin named T.V.
Garner (wife Pearl) who was about 65 years of age in 1951. My
grandfather died in San Dimas, Los Angeles, CA in Nov., 1980. My
mother also has a half-sister and half-brother, both born in Missouri. |
